Prom

I decided to do my own makeup for prom rather than going to MAC or Bobbi Brown etc.
My Makeup Forever HD foundation was no match for my old love, MAC Face & Body.
I lined my tightline and waterline with black liner and went with an all over bronze, brown Cara Delevigne eye look. NARS Deep Throat served me well, the pink pigment is really visible in the above photo and I was very pleased with this!

As far as hair goes, I got it done because my skills in that department are minimal.

My dress was made by a lovely lady called Debbie, in Rondebosch. I wanted to be different so I cut the dress to show off my shoes which I bought on my trip to the States recently.
Daring to be different - my shoes are a lace cutout style from Klub Nico. Worth every cent.

Makeup Forever HD Foundation

I also bought a new sweater from Joe Fresh in the US recently.
But more importantly, my new foundation.
Makeup Forever HD Foundation - Shade: N123

Earrings: Macy's

First Impression
The foundation almost feels like you're applying a powder rather than a liquid foundation. It's a very light foundation so naturally you'd assume a light coverage. The coverage is light to medium and is very buildable. In these images, I used two layers and applied with a fluffy brush. Although I can see myself using my hands in the  future, the brush is dense enough to apply it well.

I really love the HD finish because it does live up to it's name, the hype and Kylie Jenner has every reason to love it.

Get it here from Sephora.
Worth every penny. (and all the notes)

Pink Plaid

New mac lipstick for my collection
 // Pink Plaid //
I usually go for the matte finishes of mac lipsticks. This classic pink is the perfect shade of pink and isn't strikingly bright  (except in flash photographs. It's like Candy Yum Yum with flash.. I got a fright).

I paired the lipstick with a gold eye lined with black in the waterline and tightline to bring out my eye colour. Lots of highlighter. Lots of bronzer. No blush!

Browlosophy

Taken me a few months to find a brow plan that works and can be applied lightly or heavily depending on eye makeup. I've settled on using a dark eyeshadow from MAC. Mystery shadow applied with an angled brush (Real Techniques). Just fills the gaps and defines perfectly.

Quick and Festive

It's never too early to start the festivities.
I've made a decision to wear red lipstick on the weeks leading up to Christmas.
It just seems appropriate.

So I've created a "It's Not Christmas Just Yet" Makeup look. Using Half Baked from the Naked Palette and a pretty cat eye, Russian Red from Mac and sparkly gloss smothered on top to add to the wintery (even though it's not winter here) feel.
